Cam2PC slows down the computer

This only started happening recently, after I had to reinstall Cam2Pc (for reasons that had nothing to do with the program).

Whenever I start the program, it uses upwards of 90% of CPU time. This makes it almost impossible to use any other program at the same time as Cam2PC, let alone Photoshop...

Any idea what the problem is?

Computer:
Asus A7V333 motherboard
AMD Athlon XP 1800+ (1.53Ghz)
768mb RAM
280GB hard drive space

Can you try cam2pc 4.4 beta 2 and tell me if it does the same. If it fixed in 4.4 then it won't be fixed in 4.3 :-)

Ok, I tried that but it does not seem to be working.

Is there anywhere I can download an older version of Cam2pc? This seems to have started after I upgraded to a newer version.

Bizarre - I have no such problems with the latest Beta. Cam2pc running (idle) and 0% CPU usage.

Pentium 3 / 1.3GHz
512 Mb DDRRAM
XP / SP2

I think I may have found the problem.

A driver problem is causing the drive my photographs are on to run in MS-DOS compatibility mode. Would this cause Cam2pc to use so much CPU time?
